Furniture Anchor Straps

Why anchoring furniture matters

Most furniture feels stable until a child interacts with it.

Once babies start crawling, pulling up, and climbing, everyday items like drawers, bookcases, and TVs can become unstable very quickly.

We see this in homes every week, not unsafe home, just homes where this one step hasn’t been done yet.

Anchoring furniture is one of the simplest ways to reduce a serious risk.

How these straps work

These anti-tip straps create a secure connection between your furniture and the wall.

When installed correctly, they help:

  • Prevent forward tipping
  • Stabilise furniture during pulling or climbing
  • Keep heavy items securely in place

They’re adjustable, discreet, and designed to work across a range of furniture types.

Where to use them

We recommend using furniture straps on:

  • Tallboys and drawers
  • Bookcases and shelving units
  • TV units and freestanding TVs
  • Cabinets and storage units

If it’s tall, heavy, or climbable, it should be secured.

Installation tips (important)

For these to work properly, they need to be installed into a solid surface.

✔ Fix into wall studs or masonry
✔ Use at least 2 straps per item
✔ Use additional straps for larger or heavier furniture

Fixing only into plasterboard can give a false sense of security.

Our experience (from Mitch & Holly)

Anchoring is one of the most common things we install in homes.

It’s not always the first thing parents think about…
but it often becomes a risk overnight when kids start moving.

It’s a small job that makes a big difference.
